# Cleanmeter > A free, open-source system monitor for Windows that displays real-time CPU, GPU > and RAM stats as a clean, customizable overlay. Built by Team Crispy. Cleanmeter is a lightweight overlay for Windows 10 and 11. It shows live hardware metrics on top of whatever you are doing, and is designed to stay out of the way: you pick which metrics appear, where they sit, and which hotkey toggles them. It is free, has no paid tier, and the source is on GitHub. ## Key facts - Platform: Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Linux support is planned; macOS is not. - Price: free, open source. - Metrics: CPU and GPU temperature and load, RAM usage, network, FPS and frametime. - Overlay: horizontal or vertical, adjustable size and opacity, custom temperature ranges, several graph styles, light and dark themes. - Sensors: you can select which specific CPU, GPU and network sensors to read. - Pixel Shift: the overlay moves slightly over time to prevent static burn-in on OLED displays. - Updates: the site pulls the current version from the GitHub releases API rather than hardcoding it. - Known limitation: Cleanmeter does not currently work over fullscreen games. Use borderless windowed mode. - Windows may warn that the installer is unrecognized. SmartScreen is a reputation check rather than a virus scan: it flags installers from publishers it has not seen enough of, and an unsigned build never accrues that reputation. Users can verify the installer's SHA-256 against the GitHub release page. - Default overlay show/hide hotkey is Ctrl+Alt+F10, and it is rebindable. - Updates are checked in the background and offered in the settings window; the user chooses when to download and when to install. Nothing installs silently. - Kernel driver: PawnIO since v2.2.13, replacing WinRing0, which Defender flags and which cannot load with Memory Integrity or Secure Boot enabled. ## Links - [Home](https://www.cleanmeter.app/): overview, features and download. - [Setup and FAQ](https://www.cleanmeter.app/help): installing, configuring the overlay, the Windows SmartScreen warning, and the fullscreen limitation. - [Privacy](https://www.cleanmeter.app/privacy): the app collects no data and the site runs no analytics. - [Terms](https://www.cleanmeter.app/terms): AGPL-3.0 licence summary and site terms. - [Changelog](https://www.cleanmeter.app/changelog): release history. - [GitHub](https://github.com/SupaStellar/Cleanmeter): source, issues, releases. - [Discord](https://discord.gg/tAFDBG5pYt): support, bug reports, feature requests.
